Andersonville Bike Repair
How do I get my bike repaired?
Make an appointment using my Calendly scheduler below. If none of the appointments work for you, text me at (773) 234-6048 to see if we can find a different time, or if you have any questions. Pickup/drop-off or home service nearby is possible for a fee.
I do safety checks, tune-ups, new bike assembly, specific repairs, wheel-building, part swaps, or custom frame-up builds (including e-bikes), and I have a variety of accessories and used parts on hand. I don't work on standing electric scooters.
I accept cash (but don't keep change on hand), credit cards, and Venmo/Paypal payments via QR code. I am fully licensed and insured.
How much will it cost?
I charge an hourly rate for labor ($80/hr as of Spring 2025) plus the price of parts used. I don't charge fixed fees for specific repairs.
I'm happy to look your bike over for free, describe what I think your bike could use and how pressing the issues are, and estimate the cost of labor & parts.
Basic tune-up & adjustment work on most bikes takes around an hour of labor. Keep in mind that performing repairs can always reveal more issues requiring attention.
I'm happy to diagnose and repair e-bikes (having built a few), but in general they require more labor due to complexity and weight.
Who are you?
My name is Dana and I'm passionate about making cycling an accessible and easy way to get around Chicago for EVERYONE! I'm always happy to find the most cost-effective way to get you rolling again.
I love finding solutions for practical bike use. I use my bikes to commute, shop, move furniture, enjoy the outdoors, and travel across the city. You may have seen me pulling our small sailboat to launch at Hollywood beach!
I host the community Open Shop repair night every Tuesday at The Recyclery, and I take donations of bikes with every imaginable problem to fix up and give away to newly arrived families through Refugee Community Connection.
Looking for a used bike?
I don't sell (or buy) used bikes at this time. If you are searching for an affordable and reliable commuter, I recommend shopping at Broadway Bikes (Uptown), The Recyclery (Rogers Park), Working Bikes (Little Village), Ciclo Urbano (Humboldt Park), or Igor Does My Bike (Edgewater).
